Announcement of the Selected Transitional School

Following the Board of Directors meeting of the Centre de services scolaire de Montréal (CSSDM) on February 5, 2025, the 2025-2028 Three-Year Plan for the Distribution and Allocation of Buildings (PTRDI) was adopted as submitted.

Starting next school year, elementary students from FACE School will be relocated to the transitional elementary school, located at 4835 Christophe-Colomb, until the completion of the renovation work on the main building.

This transitional school is currently undergoing renovations to provide a safe and healthy learning environment that fosters academic success for all students. It will feature a well-designed layout conducive to student development, enhanced soundproofing, an efficient mechanical ventilation system, increased greenery, and universal accessibility. The school’s heritage elements will also be restored, preserved, and highlighted.

Meeting with the Governing Boards

The two governing boards will meet behind closed doors with the CSSDM on Monday, February 24. They will be presented with the details of the relocation to the transitional elementary school. The CSSDM will also take this opportunity to provide updates on the upcoming work at the transitional secondary school, as well as the planned renovations for the main building. An informational meeting for parents and staff members will also be organized in the spring of 2025.

The CSSDM is confident that students and staff will appreciate the renovated transitional school and its many benefits. This project aims to ensure the best possible learning conditions for academic success while awaiting the completion of this major initiative.
