We have reached an important milestone in our school’s major rehabilitation project, as the Functional Program was submitted in February 2020 ! In August 2019, the architects retained by the CSDM to develop this document started working to immerse themselves in the FACE spirit and fully understand the school and its program. They held multiple workshops with the School Team and the community to understand what makes the program special and better identify the functional and space issues of FACE’s unique educational program. The Functional Program will be an essential tool throughout the project.
What is a Functional Program ? This document describes the essential requirements that a building must meet to fulfill the activities taking place there, for example, the areas required, the functionality between spaces, etc. As an analogy, the Functional Program is like a recipe book for the future project: all the ingredients are listed along with the instructions on how to put them together to get the best result.
